The Sting of Death

In Rebecca's 6th title, Drew Slocombe meets Den Cooper, and from here on, they will form a strange team, solving mysterious killings in the part of East Devon where they now both live. Maggs and Karen are very much in evidence, especially as it is Karen's cousin who turns up the fact of an apparent abduction and murder.

Set in a quiet rural area, the story reveals some of the more sinister aspects of country life. Not just the painful stings of bees and wasps, but the aftermath of the foot and mouth outbreak, and the secret agony of family life.

Review: ‘An unusual and haunting crime novel. I have tremendous admiration for the way Rebecca Tope fleshes out her characters and then uses all their various personality traits to hook the reader into the plot’. Hilary Stewart, ‘Sherlock’ Magazine.
