Thea is in Frampton Mansell, in the more industrailised southern part of the region. The Cotswold Canal and its restoration is one strand of the story, as Thea settles down to take charge of a delightful family house with assorted livestock. Unfortunately, her optimism is short lived. Her sister turns up with an alarming personal problem, and a body is found in the pony's stable.
